Conservation Force, DSC, HSC And Partners Sue Delta To End “Big Five” Hunting Trophy Embargo

Conservation Force, Dallas Safari Club, Houston Safari Club, the CAMPFIRE Association, the Tanzania Hunting Operators Association (TAHOA), and Corey Knowlton filed suit today against Delta Air Lines, Inc. to compel an end to Delta’s illegal embargo on transport of hunting trophies of the “Big Five” (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo) from Africa. The plaintiffs allege the embargo on transport of a specific class of non-dangerous cargo violates Delta’s duty as a common carrier not to discriminate against passengers or cargo.

HSC supports reauthorization of Land and Water Conservation Fund program

With the recent expiration of the Land and Water Conservation Fund program, Houston Safari Club as part of AWCP has attached its support to a letter which recognizes “now is the time for all with a vested interest to have an open and honest discussion about opportunities to modernize LWCF to address contemporary issues, secure full funding for the program and continue its legacy of success.” Full Letter Here

HSC supports movement of sportsmen’s packages through Congress

Houston Safari Club has added its support to two letters urging movement of sportsmen’s packages through Congress. Both packages will enhance America’s hunting and angling heritage, and promote wildlife and habitat conservation.

HSC Signs Opposition to the CECIL Act

The Houston Safari Club as part of the American Wildlife Conservation Partnership signed on a letter to the leaders of the House of Representatives and Senate.

January 27, 2015 Metairie, LA (Conservation Force) – This is a comment on behalf of Conservation Force and a number of its supporting member organizations including Dallas Safari Club, Houston Safari Club, African Safari Club of Florida, Shikar Safari Club International, International Professional Hunters Association and Professional Hunters Association of South Africa. HSC Supports Sportsmen’s Act of 2015

February 10, 2015 (Houston, TX) – U.S. Sens. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Martin Heinrich (D-NM) have introduced the Sportsmen’s Act of 2015. The bipartisan legislative package is designed to promote and protect the hunting and fishing heritage of Americans and expand access to hunting and fishing areas across the United States. The Sportsmen’s Act of 2015 is supported by members of both parties including original co-sponsors U.S. Sens. Jim Risch (R-ID) and Joe Manchin (D-WV), and U.S. Sens. Deb Fischer (R-NE) and Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND).
